Instagram is a product of Facebook, after a loved one passes away Instagram allows two options upon your request; a page can be deleted or memorialized.  The steps are very similar to Facebook. Unlike Facebook, a memorialized account on Instagram is not any different than a regular account. Meaning it will not have any indication that the person is deceased.  A memorialized account cannot be logged into so it will prevent hacking.
